History of cricket
No one knows when it started but cricket was first started possibly as a children’s game. It was played by the adults in around 1611. The next development in cricket was in the 17th century in 1709 the first match with the team name was played. The first rules were made in 1744 and it still changing over time. Women’s cricket began in 1745 and the first women’s county match was played in 1811.

The first women’s test match was played in 1934 and the first women’s Cricket World Cup was played in 1973. The Women’s Cricket Council was merged with ICC in 2005. cricket was introduced in India by British merchants in the 18th century. It gained popularity among Indians during the colonial period. In India, cricket clubs were made in the mid-19th century. Then they started playing the annual match or tournament together. They became a full member of ICC in 1926 after that it gained its cricket board BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and entered test cricket in 1932. The first win for India came in 1952 against England. India won the World Cup under the 2 captaincies Kapil Dev and Ms. Dhoni in 1983, and 2011 and India became the first team that lift the T20 World Cup in 2007 under Ms Dhoni’s captaincy. Australia has been a member of ICC From the start. The Club of Cricket was built around 1826. The ACB (Australian Cricket Board) was originally formed in 1905. South Africa is a founding member of ICC. South Africa started his journey of cricket in around 1700. The first club was established in around 1843. In the history of cricket, South Africa was the first that banned from international cricket due to apartheid, it started again playing international cricket in 1991. The UCBSA (United Cricket Board of South Africa) was officially formed in 1998 but in 2002 CSA (Cricket South Africa) was formed in 2002 and ran parallel to UCB (United Cricket Board of South Africa). in the Late 1880s West Indies from their team and started playing but they joined international cricket in 1928. From the 1960’s West Indies team became the dominating team. The CWI (Cricket West Indies) was formed in 1996 before that called WICB (West Indies Cricket Board) it officially started in 1920’s. the team started in 1952 as it was recognized as a test team. The PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) is started in 1949 formerly known as the Board of Control for Cricket in Pakistan. The team won the World Cup in 1992 and the T20 World Cup in 2009. It all started with England and England’s team winning the World Cup in 2019 and the T20 World Cup in 2010 and 2022.
The more teams join the ICC and start playing and get the test playing nation recognition. The teams are like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, etc. In recent years new teams started playing as well that are Afghanistan, Nepal, Ireland, and Holland.
